We take appropriate steps to preserve supported device functionality such as True Tone, Face ID and Touch ID when the repair and replacement part allow it. Where a feature cannot be carried across on a particular model and part, you hear that at the counter and not at pickup.

What each of the common iPhone repairs involves, where the part choice matters, and how to get one started.
Displays and the part you choose
This is where the money is. An OLED replacement matches the original for contrast, color and brightness behaviour. An LCD costs less and shows it, particularly in the black levels and when the phone is tilted. Both are legitimate choices for different phones and different budgets, which is why we lay the options out instead of defaulting for you.

Batteries
Lithium cells lose capacity with every charge cycle and with age, and the phone reports it long before it becomes unusable. Short runtime, a shutdown while the meter still shows charge left, and throttled performance are the usual sequence. A cell that has swollen will push the display up out of the frame, and that one should not wait.
Charge ports
A good share of the phones that arrive as charging faults are ports packed with compacted lint, and clearing that is the entire repair. The others are worn connectors, damaged port flexes, or a fault back on the charging circuit. Those are three different jobs, which is why the diagnostic comes before the quote rather than after it.
Rear glass and cameras
On the models where the back glass is bonded to the frame, replacing it is a heat and laser job rather than a simple swap, and it is worth asking what is involved before assuming it is minor. Camera work splits between cracked cover glass, which is its own part, and a module that will not focus or shows a shaking image, which is not.
Liquid damage
Liquid damage is corrosion, and corrosion does not stop when the phone feels dry. Rice does nothing at all. Turn the phone off, leave it off the charger, and get it opened. We clean the board ultrasonically, deal with the corroded connectors and rails, then see what is left. Some boards come through it and some do not.
Board-level work
A phone with no power, a boot loop that survives a restore, a charging circuit that never negotiates, or damage from a bad charger is a board fault. Advanced repair work is performed in-house where applicable. That work happens under a microscope in this building, rather than being shipped out or answered with a replacement device.
Data, software and getting started
Transfers from an old iPhone to a new one, photo and contact recovery from a damaged handset, Apple ID and iCloud lockouts, and restore loops. Where a phone can still be backed up, that is done before the repair. Phone and tablet diagnostic: $49, credited toward the repair when you approve it.
