Repair Policy and Terms

The document that governs your repair is the ticket opened at check-in. You read it and approve it before a technician starts, anything specific to your device is written on it, and a copy stays with the job. This page is the plain summary: how a repair gets quoted, how parts are chosen, what happens once the work is done, and what you should do before handing a device over. Call (916) 627-1818 if you want any of it explained before you approve anything.

Before You Hand a Device Over

Back up what you can first. A repair means the device comes apart, and on software jobs it can mean the storage is reloaded, so a current backup is what stands between the job and your photos and files.

Take out the SIM and any memory card. If there is anything on the device you would rather nobody else saw, take that off too. If it will not power on and you cannot reach the data at all, say so at check-in so the technician knows what matters on it.

Getting the Device to Us

Walk-ins welcome. Appointments welcome. Quote requests welcome. Appointments are 15 to 30 minute check-in and drop-off windows, not repair start or completion times.

Mail-in repairs are accepted for anything you are comfortable shipping to us. However it arrives, the job starts the same way: a technician looks at the device and writes down what they actually find.

Diagnostics and Approval

We do not price a repair over the phone. Somebody has to establish whether the fault is software or hardware, and on a board-level job that means testing the board itself.

Phone and tablet diagnostic: $49, credited toward the repair when you approve it. Computer diagnostic: $99, credited toward the repair when you approve it.

Every repair is quoted after inspection, before any work starts. Every price we give online is an estimate. Final pricing depends on part quality, part availability, device condition and what the diagnostic finds. If the inspection turns up something the figure you approved does not cover, you hear the revised number before anyone goes further.

Parts

Most repairs come down to a part choice, and the options are rarely equivalent. Phone screens are the clearest case: an original panel, an aftermarket OLED and an LCD look different, behave differently under sunlight and touch, and are priced differently. We'll explain your part options before you decide.

We take appropriate steps to preserve supported device functionality such as True Tone, Face ID and Touch ID when the repair and replacement part allow it.

Customer-supplied parts are accepted, with no warranty or guarantee on the supplied part. Bring the part in with the device so a technician can look at it before you commit to that route.

Timing

Ask about turnaround when you check in; it depends on the repair and parts availability. Part ordering is usually the variable. If a supplier slips, or the board turns out to need more work than the quote covered, you get a call rather than a surprise at pickup.

After the Repair

Standard repair warranty: 30 days unless stated otherwise on your ticket. Some phone screen options carry a 90-day warranty; the warranty depends on the part you choose.

Keep your ticket, because the terms that apply to your job are printed on it. If the device is not behaving once you have it home, call the shop and bring the ticket back in with the device.

About This Website

This site is here to describe what the shop does and to let you start a quote without picking up the phone. What you read here is general; the repair itself runs on the ticket you approve at the counter. For what happens to the details you send through the forms on this site, see our Privacy Policy.
