On older iPads the glass and digitizer sit above a separate LCD, so cracked glass can be replaced without touching the panel. On laminated models the layers are bonded and the repair takes the whole assembly. iPad cells are large, bonded across the back of the case, and they age like every other lithium battery. The complaint is usually a tablet that drains while idle or shuts down under load. Removing a bonded cell without damaging the thin aluminium behind it is the slow part of the job, and it is where most self-repair attempts come unstuck.

Lightning and USB-C ports both fill with lint and both wear out. A cable that only charges at one particular angle is a port that has lost contact, not a bad cable. On the Pencil side, a stylus that will not pair or stops registering pressure can be the Pencil, the pairing, or the digitizer underneath, and those three are separated on the bench rather than guessed at.

An iPad board spans more area than a phone board, so a spill reaches more connectors. Switch it off, keep it off the charger, and bring it in. We clean the board ultrasonically and deal with the corroded rails and connectors. Advanced repair work is performed in-house where applicable., so a board most shops would write off gets looked at here first.

Transfers between iPads and across to a Mac, recovery of photos and documents from a tablet that will not start, and Apple ID or iCloud lockouts. Where a device can still be backed up, that happens before the repair.
