In-house board repair

When swapping the part is not the answer.

A USB-C port that charges nothing, a machine that draws power but never posts, a spill that has started eating through traces: those are circuit faults, not assemblies you can unplug and replace. They go to the microscope bench in this building, with a meter and the board layout, so a whole new logic board is the last question we ask rather than the first.

Advanced repair work is performed in-house where applicable.

  • Micro-soldering and component-level rework
  • Charging circuits and power management ICs
  • Boards that take power but never post
  • Ultrasonic cleaning and corrosion repair after a spill
  • BIOS and firmware recovery

Everyday faults

More detail

The longer answer on computer repair.

Nearly everything that comes through the door lands in one of a few buckets: something physical broke, something wore out, the storage is on its way out, heat is throttling the machine, or the operating system has gone sideways. The same bench handles all of it, on Apple hardware and on Windows hardware, portable or tower.

Windows laptops

Lenovo ThinkPad and IdeaPad, HP EliteBook and Spectre, Dell Latitude and XPS, Asus ZenBook and ROG, Acer Aspire and Predator, MSI and the rest. Panels and hinges, batteries that no longer hold a charge, keyboards, charging ports, storage, and board faults underneath all of that. Ask about turnaround when you check in; it depends on the repair and parts availability. Details on the Windows laptop repair page.

Desktops and towers

Prebuilt Dell, HP and Lenovo machines, custom towers and gaming rigs. Power supplies that fail under load, boards that will not post, graphics card faults, clogged coolers and dried thermal paste, drive replacement, memory, BIOS recovery and clean-up after a spill or a flood. New custom PC builds are specified and assembled here as well. More on the desktop PC repair page.

Apple hardware

MacBook Air and MacBook Pro on Apple Silicon and on the older Intel boards, plus iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio and Mac Pro. Displays, batteries, keyboards and trackpads, hinges, storage, liquid damage and logic board diagnosis. We'll explain your part options before you decide.
