Tablets live a harder life than their owners think. They sit on sofas and get knelt on, they travel loose in bags, and they spend years plugged in at an angle on a bedside table. The damage follows: split glass, a battery that no longer lasts a sitting, a charge port that has stopped gripping the cable.
We work on Samsung Galaxy Tab in the S and A ranges, Lenovo Tab, Amazon Fire including the Kids models, and other Android slates. A tablet display is a larger and more fragile piece of glass than a phone's, and the assemblies are bonded, which makes the repair a careful one.
Every repair is quoted after inspection, before any work starts. We will also say plainly when a tablet is not worth the parts it would take, which happens more often at the budget end than anyone likes.

Cracked glass and dead touch
Premium Galaxy Tab models use AMOLED panels and most of the rest are LCD. Either way the glass and the panel are laminated together, so a crack usually means the whole assembly. Dead patches under your finger, lines through the image and touch that fires on its own are all reasons to have the assembly looked at rather than lived with, because broken glass keeps travelling.
Batteries
A tablet cell is several times the size of a phone cell and it ages the same way, losing capacity as the cycles add up. The usual complaint is a tablet that drains while idle, or one that refuses to wake unless it is on the charger. Swelling shows as a screen edge lifting away from the frame, and that is the point to stop charging it.
Charge ports
Tablets take their port damage from being used while plugged in. Sideways pressure on the cable loosens the connector and eventually breaks its solder joints, and lint packs into the opening on top of that. Clearing the port fixes some of them. The rest need the port replaced, which is board work rather than a swap.
Liquid damage
The board inside a tablet is spread across more area than a phone's, which means more connectors and more places for corrosion to settle. Leave it switched off and off the charger, and bring it in rather than waiting for it to dry out. Ultrasonic cleaning and connector work recover many of them, and we tell you what the board looks like once it is open.
Accounts, resets and data
Google account lockouts after a reset, parental controls on the Fire Kids models, transfers to a replacement device, and recovery of photos from a tablet that will not boot. Phone and tablet diagnostic: $49, or $99 for liquid damage, data recovery and board repair, credited toward the repair when you approve it.

Every price we give online is an estimate. Final pricing depends on part quality, part availability, device condition and what the diagnostic finds. A premium Galaxy Tab assembly is a different order of cost from a budget Fire panel, so on tablets the model matters more than the fault does.
