PC (logic board repair)

I came into the shop hoping for a miracle when my custom PC suddenly wouldn’t turn on anymore. Thankfully Ryan was there to help me and with enough time and patience was able to fix and also enhance my setup with a brand new motherboard. I am glad to have been helped by him at iGeek Tech Repair.

Custom PC build

I've been a customer of iGeek for a little over a decade. From its humble beginnings before it opened its shop to 2025, the service has never wavered in quality and care for the customer. Many years ago, I had several problems with my old prebuilt gaming PC; right out of the box, it came loaded with Windows 8 (which I didn't want), and it kept rolling the BIOs back to factory settings no matter how many times they were fixed, and after the root of the problem was taken care of, everything ran smoothly. That was very stressful, but some years later, more problems arose: the failure of a graphics card, the necessary upgrade from an HDD to an SSD, and the replacement of a weak power supply for a better one. All of these things would've been stressful for me, but iGeek took care of me. One thing I'll always be grateful for was Hammad both picking up and dropping off my PC at my doorstep back when transportation was a real challenge for me, like the final boss in a game. He came through for me a number of times when he didn't have to extend himself like that, and I've never forgotten the kindness. Flash forward to 2025, and I finally had the means to build a fully custom PC for my desired experience in gaming and media consumption. I didn't know where to start -- I'd been out of the market forever since getting a PC anywhere near the level my new one is was a pipe dream, but I knew where to go to. Ryan was there to help advise me on what parts were good for my specific wants in an experience, and I let him pick everything because I trusted his expertise. From the moment I chatted with him, good vibes, and he let me speak, which paramount as a customer. He was chill and patient, and once the parts were ordered, he told me he'd get to work on building it immediately after they arrived. I was relieved. Ryan also offered me recommendations on peripherals and I snagged some good deals, which I'm enjoying. Having a dream PC that is as future-proofed as it can be for the budget I was working with was nothing short of exhilarating for me. The ultimate tech glow-up in my case after a long period of tech stagnation, though my old PC still works and served me well. This beastly beauty sits on my desk and lights up beautifully, thanks to Ryan's hard work. The level of professionalism and fast pace of working (under pressure, I bet, to meet time constraints) is admirable. Fair prices and diligent work by a highly skilled team of people is something to be cherished, as it's hard to find as a packaged deal. I recommend iGeek for anyone who doesn't want to deal with the stress of fixing their devices themselves, I know I wouldn't even try if I wasn't absolutely sure. You can trust whatever you bring in to their care, they'll make it shiny and new again, so do yourself a favor and save a headache. iGeek has your back! P.S. Shout out to Ryan -- you made a wish a reality. Thank you for being helpful in so many ways.

Custom PC build

I brought in my custom built gaming pc because all my games kept crashing and I had no idea what was wrong. Hammad was able to narrow the issue down to the graphics card and had it fixed promptly. Will definitely be coming back if I ever have any more issues.

Why iGeek

Different on purpose.

We list every part

Skytech, iBuypower, CyberPowerPC hide their bill of materials until after you pay. You see ours before you commit. PSU brand, RAM model, SSD generation, all of it.

Local warranty

Something breaks? Drive it back to our Elk Grove shop. No shipping it to a Texas warehouse and waiting six weeks for an RMA.

Repair-shop pedigree

14 years repairing devices. We see which parts fail every week, so we don't put those parts in our builds. Honest part choices over flashy ones.

7 to 10 day turnaround

Most prebuilts ship from Texas in three weeks. Our builds are spec'd, approved, assembled, tested, and ready in 7 to 10 days.

Read more about our shop on the about page, or browse our diagnostic process.

Prebuilt vs iGeek

What's actually inside a $1,600 prebuilt.

The spec sheet you see on the box hides the parts that matter. Here's how a typical prebuilt compares to one of our builds at the same price.

Parts list

Hidden until after purchase

Published before you pay

Power supply

Unknown-brand unit, often the first thing to fail

Corsair, Seasonic, EVGA, named tier (Gold or Platinum)

RAM

Often single stick (half the bandwidth)

Dual-channel kit, matched timings

Memory generation

Older DDR or last-gen kits, quietly downgraded

Current-gen, current speed grade

Software

Bloatware preload (trial AV, OEM crapware)

Clean Windows install. Drivers only.

Warranty

Mail it to Texas. Wait 4 to 6 weeks.

Drive it back. We fix it in our Elk Grove shop.

Cable management

Sloppy. Visible through the tempered glass.

Cleaned up. Looks like a build, not a tornado.

Turnaround

3+ weeks from order to door

7 to 10 days, local pickup

2026 Memory Crisis

Prebuilts on the shelf today were spec'd in 2025.

DRAM, GDDR7, and SSD prices spiked through 2026. Big-box builders quietly swapped in older or slower parts to hold last year's price stickers. The box says one thing, the build says another. We ship current parts at current prices, full stop, and we tell you the price before you commit.
