Why time matters
The most important thing you can do is stop using the device immediately. Powering on a wet device sends current through the corroded circuits, which causes additional damage. That said, don't write your device off — even if it's been longer than 24 hours and you've already made every mistake in the book, bring it in. Our 3-stage recovery process
Stage 1 — Stop and bring in. Don't power it on. Don't try to charge it. Don't put it in rice (rice is a myth; it doesn't work and may make things worse). Bring the device to us as fast as you can.
Stage 2 — Disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning. We disassemble the device down to the board, clean every component ultrasonically with electronics-safe solvent, and inspect for corrosion under magnification.
Stage 3 — Component-level repair. Where corrosion has damaged specific components (charging IC, audio IC, capacitors), we replace or repair at the component level rather than swapping entire boards. Honest odds before we start.
What NOT to do (the rice myth and other bad advice)
Don't put your device in rice. It doesn't work. Rice absorbs surface moisture but doesn't reach the corrosion inside. Don't use a hair dryer. Heat damages internal components and can spread liquid. Don't power it on to 'check if it still works.' That's the single fastest way to kill a recoverable device. Don't wait. Bring it in.

Phones (iPhone, Samsung, Pixel). Generally good odds if brought in within 24 hours. Modern phones have some water resistance, which buys time but doesn't help once water gets in.
Tablets (iPad, Galaxy Tab). Bigger boards, more components, more places for water to hide. Odds drop faster than phones.
Laptops and MacBooks. Coffee spills are common. Liquid often pools under the keyboard. We can usually save most laptops if you stop using them immediately and bring them in.
