Gaming PC repair in Elk Grove and Sacramento

A gaming desktop spends hours at a time near full load, so the parts that give out first are the ones moving heat and power. Dust packs the cooler fins, thermal paste dries out, an AIO pump quietly stops circulating, and a power supply that once coped starts dropping voltage the moment the graphics card pulls its peak.

We take in prebuilt towers and hand-built machines, air cooled and liquid cooled, running NVIDIA, AMD or Intel graphics. Usual work: cooler strip-down and re-paste, fan and pump replacement, power supply testing, memory instability, drives on the way out, no-display and no-boot faults, and board-level repair on the graphics card itself.

Every repair is quoted after inspection, before any work starts. Standard repair warranty: 30 days unless stated otherwise on your ticket.

What gaming PC repair looks like here

Prebuilt or hand-built, air cooled or on a custom loop, the diagnosis comes before the parts list. Every repair is quoted after inspection, before any work starts.

Machines we take in

Prebuilt towers from Alienware, ASUS ROG, iBUYPOWER, CyberPowerPC, NZXT and the rest, alongside builds people assembled themselves. Air coolers, all-in-one liquid coolers and custom loops. GeForce, Radeon and Arc graphics. Small form factor cases as well, which is usually where heat problems announce themselves first.

Heat, dust and throttling

A rig that used to hold its frame rate and now stutters, drops clocks or cuts out mid session is generally complaining about cooling. We read temperatures and clock behaviour while the machine is under a real load rather than sitting idle, then clean the cooler, renew paste and thermal pads, and confirm a liquid cooler's pump is genuinely moving coolant. Case airflow gets the same look: intake and exhaust working against each other will bake a graphics card no matter what is bolted to the CPU.

Power, memory and storage

Reboots under load, a shutdown the instant a card spikes, or a machine that never reaches POST often trace back to the power supply, so we test it instead of guessing and size any replacement to the build rather than to the case. Memory faults tend to look like random crashes until the sticks get tested one at a time. A failing SSD or hard drive can imitate almost any other problem, which is why a suspect drive gets imaged before anything else happens to it.

Graphics faults and board-level work

Graphics card diagnosis and repair. Artifacts on screen, a black display with the fans running flat out, a card the board no longer sees, or timeouts in one title and nothing else. Software comes first, because a clean driver rebuild sorts out plenty of cards their owners had already written off. When the fault really is on the board, we can open it up here and look at power stages, fuses, connectors and memory. Some of that is recoverable and some of it is not, and you hear which before you spend anything. Advanced repair work is performed in-house where applicable.

Upgrades, builds and what to expect

Plenty of what comes in is not broken at all. We add memory, move a system onto a larger NVMe drive, fit a new graphics card and check the power supply can feed it, and set up capture and streaming hardware. If starting fresh makes more sense, we build gaming PCs to a brief and a budget using your parts or ours. Customer-supplied parts are accepted, with no warranty or guarantee on the supplied part.

Diagnostic for a gaming PC, a gaming laptop, a custom-built PC or a graphics card on its own: $99, credited toward the repair when you approve it. Every repair is quoted after inspection, before any work starts. Ask about turnaround when you check in; it depends on the repair and parts availability. Standard repair warranty: 30 days unless stated otherwise on your ticket.

Frequently Asked

Questions we get most.

My PC crashes or shuts down during games. Where do you start?
Under load, not at idle. We watch CPU and GPU temperatures and clock behaviour while the machine is actually working, check the power supply at that same load, then move on to drivers, memory and storage. Crashing has a handful of common causes and each leaves a different fingerprint, so the point of the diagnostic is to rule them out in order.
Can a graphics card be repaired, or does it have to be replaced?
That depends on what failed. Power stages, fuses, connectors and cold joints are often workable on the bench. A dead core or badly damaged memory usually is not. We inspect the board first, tell you what we found, and say plainly when a card is not worth saving.
What does it cost to have the machine looked at?
Diagnostic for a gaming PC, a gaming laptop, a custom-built PC or a graphics card on its own: $99, credited toward the repair when you approve it. Every repair is quoted after inspection, before any work starts.
How long will you have my PC?

What happens if the same fault comes back?
