Cell Phone Battery Replacement

A phone with a bad battery is the worst. Over time, your battery will slowly die and no matter how much you charge it, it will eventually need to be replaced.

Due to the size of most phones, you need the right tools and expertise to successfully swap out the battery. With our expert phone battery replacement service, your phone will be back to holding a charge in no time.

Cell Phone Camera Repair

Most people these days don’t carry cameras as a separate device. So if the camera on your cell phone isn’t working – you won’t have a camera at all. Sometimes camera issues are the results of obvious damage in need of repairs, while other times your camera might stop working, and you’re unsure which issues is causing it.

Sometimes you can fix your cell phone camera by a soft reset.

Remove the battery from the phone without turning it off first. After about one minute, replace the battery and turn on the phone. Try using the camera to see if this has resolved the problem.

If you have tried all of the above suggestions, but your camera still does not work, the best option is to let a professional repair service look at the device.

At iGeek Tech Repair, we have knowledgeable technicians who can assess the problem and give you a free estimate for repairs. aJust stop by our shop or get a quote on our website if you know what the issue is.

Cell Phone Water Damage Repair

Water damage may cause a serious problem with the fragile internal circuits inside your phone or other devices, rendering it useless and your data gone forever. Did your dog slobber all over your phone or did you accidentally drop it in the toilet? Maybe you jumped in your pool with your phone in a pocket, accidentally ran it through the washer machine, or it got left out in the rain!

Here’s some things you can try to troubleshoot a water damaged cell phone:

Remove the device from the water as quickly as possible, and remove the battery immediately. Removing the battery quickly could make the difference to save your phone. Most phones have a white indicator near the battery that will turn pink or red if water has damaged the device. You can try to draw the moisture out by submerging the phone in a bowl of rice or other absorbent material overnight. You can also try to dry it out with a vacuum cleaner, as long as you don’t hold the vacuum too close to the device. Sometimes cleaning the phone with rubbing alcohol will work if it has not been exposed to water very long.

Here are some other Do’s and Don’ts.

Do

  • Remove the memory card, sim card & everything else that could be plugged into the device.
  • Dry gently with an absorbent towel.

Don’t

  • Don’t use a hairdryer on the phone – this can push water inside the phone and do more damage.
  • Don’t push any buttons! This may force water further into the circuits.
  • Don’t move the phone any more than you have to. It’s best not to move the phone preventing water from spreading through the device.
  • Don’t turn the phone on too soon. It is best to wait 24 hours before attempting to turn your phone back on.

If you have tried the advice above and your phone is still not working, let us look at your phone. Our expert technicians at iGeek will make every effort possible to salvage your water damaged phone or other device. However, if the damage is beyond repair, iGeek Tech Repair has the technology to retrieve any information stored on your phone and transfer them to a new device.
